Meet Dr Lucy Zhang, BDS (Associate Dentist)
As a child, Lucy spent a lot of time at the dentist and feels very lucky that she had a great dentist who made her laugh and wanted to see her.
I’ve also always loved being around people, and as time passed, it became evident I had a naturally caring and nurturing personality; from there, I knew I needed to be in healthcare.”
In 2023, Lucy earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with Distinction from the University of Otago. She plans to regularly attend conferences and seminars to further her knowledge and always keep up to date with the latest technology and techniques. “I’d love to be able to learn forever in a field like dentistry where I feel like I can dedicate myself to.”
A Passion for Helping Others
For Lucy, nothing makes her happier than being able to help those in need. She finds it rewarding to impact the health of the community positively and always wants to be able to provide the same care that she was able to receive.
Lucy also loves it when patients tell her they really enjoyed their visit and finds it gratifying when patients fall asleep in her care because they feel safe enough to do so. Moreover, she enjoys helping to give patients a beautiful smile they can be confident about.
Outside the Practice
When she’s not crafting healthy, beautiful smiles for patients, Lucy enjoys music, her biggest hobby! Coming from a family of musicians, she plays the piano and sings. She also loves caring for animals and serves as a volunteer for the SPCA.
Other favourite activities include cooking and baking. As a self-described huge foodie, Lucy likes being creative when making dishes. She also enjoys spending time with her beloved family and friends and learning new skills. Lucy speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and Shanghainese.
